New Diaphragm Seal Valves Improve Leak Integrity for High-Purity Gases

Gas Equipment Corporation recently introduced ¼-turn, diaphragm seal valves for use with high-purity specialty gases. These valves provide the convenience
of operation of conventional, ¼-turn ball valves while also providing a significantly higher degree of leak integrity to insure gas purity (leak rate is
below 1 x 10-8 scc/second of air). The valves are competitively priced and can operate at pressures from vacuum up to 3000 psig.
The Series SG5440 and SG5450 valves are available in either brass or Type 316L Stainless Steel construction, making them excellent for use in both corrosive
and noncorrosive applications. The ¼-turn, lever-type handle provides a quick visual indication of whether the valve is open or closed, while also allowing
the valve to be actuated with just a twist of the wrist. A simple cartridge design eliminates the use of springs within the flow path and reduces production
costs permitting the valves to be economically manufactured and competitively priced.
These valves utilize a stainless steel diaphragm seal design that is free of any packing material and are available with either ¼" pipe end fittings
(NPT) or ¼" compression-type tube fittings. They also feature an integral panel-mounting nut that permits the valves to be panel-mounted with the drilling
