Advanced Specialty Gas Equipment Awarded national Distributor Contract for UOP Molecular Sieve Desiccants September 10, 2007 – Middlesex, NJ - Advanced Specialty Gas Equipment (ASGE) has been selected by UOP, a Honeywell company, to market and distribute its molecular sieve and activated alumina adsorbents. These synthetic adsorbents manufactured by UOP are used in a broad spectrum of applications ranging from plastic resin drying, polymer formulations, industrial gas purification and air separation. Molecular sieve desiccants are crystalline metal aluminosilicates having a solid framework, defined by large internal cavities interconnected by pore openings, all precisely the same size through which molecules can pass. Depending on the size of the openings, they can adsorb molecules readily, slowly, or not at all, thus functioning as molecular sieves -- adsorbing molecules of certain sizes while rejecting larger ones. This is the key to their efficiency as agents for drying and purifying liquids and gases. Such abilities also serve as the basis for separation. U.S. customers requesting UOP MOLSIV™ 3A, 4A, 5A, 13X beads, pellets and all activated powders in quantities of 3,000 lbs. or less will have their orders processed and distributed by ASGE. Types A201, D201 Activated Alumina adsorbents will also be processed and distributed by ASGE.
